I’m not sure there have been any words spoken more often than….”It’s Not MY fault!” And I have been thinking and thinking about that….especially in connection with the elections. I have been trying to figure out WHY people vote the way they do when some choices are so clear….and so obvious.
Most ESPECIALLY on this “pro-choice” issue. I could never vote for someone who sanctioned “murder for the sake of convenience.” And everyone SHOULD be able to see that. Everyone should get it. I thought it especially last night when I had pleasure of caring for my ALMOST 2 year old granddaughter who LOVES “epa(grandpa), and thinks Uncle is IT. Whenever she gets in the pool she thinks it’s bath time and she proceeds to take off every stitch of clothing. Convincing her that it’s really much better if she has something on doesn’t seem to sink in just yet. It’s almost too much to realize that my daughter-in-law had the “choice” of ending my granddaughter’s life had she chosen to do that. To be clear, that was NEVER the issue and this child was planned and welcomed. But the idea that, had that not been the case, she could have gone and ended all of the endless potential this child has……is mind-boggling and tragic. This little girl is a treasure and she was created in the image of G-d. No one has the right to take that from her. Not even her host.
I will concede that, when a mother’s life is in danger, or in the cases of rape or incest, this may very will be the thing to do. Even those decisions I find difficult and am glad I have never had to make them.
But it’s not only the potential for life, but for all of the potential contributions she could make to society. Maybe not as a scientist, although that is certainly possible, and maybe not the president of the United States, although that is certainly possible. But maybe the most important role of all……as a woman who lives an upright and G-d-fearing life, and contributes to society by living as a moral and honest woman. There really is no greater contribution to society than that. This is not hard to see. This is something we can all understand. It’s before our eyes everyday. And yet, as a matter of “choice,” of “convenience,” we kill. We “do away” with the “punishment.” Isn’t that how Obama described children? Didn’t he say that he didn’t want his daughters to be “punished” with a child?
So-o-o-o-o, I think I have it figured out. Why would a seemingly rational, thinking person vote for someone like Obama? Could they really be fooled by him? Could they really think that he is OK? Could they really believe that G-d would allow us to get away with murder? And more importantly, elect leaders who want to make it “legal” to murder? State sanctioned murder no less?
I don’t think so. I think it’s more because, this is a party, an idea, that is geared towards not making people take responsibility for their actions. Whether or not it is wrong makes no difference. It’s all about the “I’m OK you’re OK” idea. Whatever I choose to do is fine, and whatever you choose to do is fine. The only ones that aren’t OK are the ones who stand up and say that SOME THINGS are wrong and they are always wrong.
Just so everyone is clear, I AM PRO-CHOICE. I believe that people DO have choices. People have the choice to have sex…..or not. People have the choice to take care of their children……or not. People have the choice to work and support themselves…..or not. See? I believe in choice.
But once someone has MADE THEIR CHOICES…..once someone has had sex WILLINGLY, and has made a child with someone else, do we then have the CHOICE of “doing away” with the consequences?
That is what this is really all about. It’s NOT choice. CLEARLY, choices are being made. It’s the consequences that we don’t want. We really should make that more clear. It’s not the CHOICE they are fighting for…..it’s the fight against taking responsibilty for our actions.
Realizing that clears it all up for me. The people voting for Anti-responsibility, it’s-not-my-fault Obama have something in their lives that they don’t want to own up to or take responsibility for. There is something that they continue to blame on someone else in order to feel good about themselves and to deflect attention away from themselves. So they vote for No-Fault Obama. After all, it validates their position. It’s country-sanctioned no-fault for all.
But there are those of us who know that trying to escape consequences doesn’t really work. They come roaring back……because G-d allows consequences. And as much as people might not get it….Obama isn’t a god. He can’t stop it. Obama is just a spineless, go with the flow nominee for president of the U.S. And for whatever reason, he has people fooled into thinking he has power even over that. If people were really honest with themselves, they would know that the reason they vote for someone such as Obama is because he makes them feel good about the not-so-good they are doing. He makes them FEEL like it’s OK to not take responsibilty for their actions. Don’t worry….Papa Barack will take care of everything. And while we are at it…he(we) will pay for everything also. No responsibility.
Well, No-fault Obama can only make you FEEL good….for a time. But don’t forget the old saying…..”we reap what we sow.” Even Obama can’t take away consequences that G-d allows. And the rest of the nation will bear the consequences of electing Obama, should he become the next president of the United States. Even those who didn’t vote for him.
G-d help us when we get what we deserve.
